Twenty Years

1996 was a very pivotal year for me. I attended a week long video presentation of Drunvalo Melchizedek's Flower of Life workshop. This put together a lot of stuff I had come across previously and introduced me to quite a lot of new material.

He introduced a very different view of history based primarily on the writings of Zecharia Sitchin. He also talked about A.H. Almaas's explanation of how we get drafted into ego-land during our early childhood. I found Almaas's book "The Pearl Beyond Price" fascinating,

During that week there was some discussion about a work that was to become the major influence in my life: "A Course in Miracles".

Since then I have read the Textbook and Manual for Teachers numerous times and done the Workbook lessons twice. Yes, I am stubborn, and it takes a long time to undo my attachment to ego-land and all its illusions. Now I cycle through Lessons 221 to 365 on a continuous basis to keep me reminded of who and what I truly am and where and when I really live.

A Course in Miracles emphasises again and again that I am as God created me and as such I have no need to be concerned about this world, or the ego's interpretation of what it thinks is going on. Ego-land is hell. Based on fear, guilt and anger, we'll stay stuck in it until we change our thinking.

There is a 'world beyond' this world that we can enter. To do this, we start looking at this world through Love and Peace. Beyond ego's insistence that we are all guilty, we are all, in fact, perfectly innocent. As God's creation, how could we be otherwise?

Santa Claus Derailed 18 December 2011 exLJ

The idea behind Santa Claus and many other great ideas gets distorted over time. This is usually attributed to greed, to materialism or even simply to someone has to make a living out of it.

The idea that Santa Claus represents is that giving and receiving are beneficial to our well-being and so benefits our health. The problem arose when this giving and receiving became associated solely with giving material gifts. Gifts that we can touch and hold, gifts that we can like or dislike, gifts that represent how much we like or dislike the receiver, gifts that we feel obliged to give.

One global initiative site that I follow suggested that I give them a donation to make we feel good this holiday season.

The real gift was never supposed to be what was given, but the thought behind it. "It's the thought that counts" was the expression used to console us when we were disappointed in a gift we received. And it is the thought that matters.

"It is the thought that counts."

And it is always what we are thinking that matters. So this Christmas give thoughts of Love and Peace to everyone you know and to all the rest of us, as well.

And why limit these gifts to Christmas time. Give Peace and Love to everyone, all the time, throughout the year and throughout the rest of our lives.

What I have always enjoyed about Christmas is the spirit behind it. The spirit that helped parents do their utmost to get the best gifts for their children from Santa Claus. The spirit that allows seemingly total strangers wish each other "Happy Christmas and a Peaceful New Year."

What we give is what we get. Giving and receiving are one in truth.

So, have a happy, peaceful Christmas and make Christmas yours all year round and all through your life.

Blessings - Love, Light, Life 20 October 2010 ex?Peace

Love

When I say "I love you", I mean that I totally accept anything and everything that you think, say and do. Love is total acceptance of what's going in our lives. Love is not "I own you", nor "You'll do what I tell you". Love is everywhere, all around us, all the time. Remind yourself often that "I am always in Love".

Light

We live in a radiant universe. Everything in it is made of light and radiates light. When we look using eye/brain we see light and dark and think that we need an external source (sun, bulb, candle) to be able to see anything. On 22 December 1990 I sat in total darkness. After 20 minutes I began to see a light. There was no external source. These days, it takes a couple of minutes to get into it, and its always there.

Life

Life is eternal, outside time and space. The idea of separation drives our identification with bodies. When we look at ourselves as bodies and look around at other bodies we see signs of ageing, dieing and death. We are and idea in our All One Mind and as such we are eternal. Sooner are later we all drop our bodies, but we go on for ever.

Welcome "Infinitee" 4 October 2010 ex?Peace

When I was young we all wanted to be Billionaires. I guess the underlying idea was that by becoming rich and famous we would not have to work. There is an infinite amount of all the states we really need all around us all the time (Love, Light, Life...). Become present and say this simple mantra "I am always in Love" a few times and you'll begin to realise that you are a "Love Infinitee."

Hold it Against Me 30 September 2010 ex?Peace!

"...would you hold it against me?"

My recent lessons in ACIM have been to do with grievances. Simply summary - holding grievances keeps me out of heaven. So, I'm letting them go. I'm also getting much quicker at catching myself getting into them. For every grievance there is a blame game guilt trip process. The lesson title is "Love holds no grievances."

Peace of Mind Healing 5. Ending this SAD Game

In his book, "Function of the Orgasm", Wilhelm Reich used the analogy of a bladder to explain how our bodies behave. The Shamans of Ancient Mexico, as reported by Carlos Castaneda, seen us in ancient times as luminous eggs. Modern man, they contended, looks like spheres.

I prefer to see us as bubbles.

God is everywhere. God is Love. Love is everywhere.

The Shamans of Ancient Mexico seen love as a glue that held everything together. A Course in Miracles stresses that Love is all there is.

In our first month as babies all we are is Love. It flows freely in and around us. As we begin our attachment process to our parents we begin to identify with them as they see themselves. This process leads to the development of our senses and to our identification with images, sounds and body sensations. By the time it is complete we are totally convinced that we are bodies.

We see ourselves as separate entities subjected to encounters with other separate entities. The nature of these encounters varies depending on the nature of our childhood circumstances. If we were brought up in a caring tolerant environment then, most likely, we will be caring and tolerant. If we were brought up in an angry, argumentative and belligerent environment its highly unlikely that we will not have absorbed some of these traits.

Even though we see ourselves as separate, there really is no such thing. We can convince ourselves that we are isolated and alone, that we are worthless, or that no one loves us. Not only can we, we are totally convinced that we are these things and much worse.

We see ourselves as subjects of attack and abuse who need lots of protective defenses. Instead of bubbles of Love we see ourselves inside a dense encrusted shell. A shell that lets nothing in and lets nothing out.

To end this game we need to change our thinking. "Easier said than done" is the most frequent response I get to that idea. We need to become aware of what we are thinking at any given moment. To do this we become present.

Presence techniques are primarily based on observation of what we perceive with the senses of the body. Perception and observation are qualities of our mind and are determined by our thinking. What we look for we find! To observe is to pay attention. An observation is just an observation until we decide what to do with it. We can blame-game-guilt-trip or we can learn.

To Observe Truly

  1. First suspend all belief and thought systems.
  2. Then switch off any pattern recognition systems.
  3. And then when we've become rightly (or leftly or wrongly) confused we may begin to know reality.
  4. Having observed, accept our observations for what they are, our observations. Do not go looking for agreement for them; do not go looking for approval for them. No-one else will have switched off our belief, thought and pattern recognition systems and they will not want us breaking down their defenses.

Blame-Game-Guilt-Trip
  1. We make an observation.
  2. We analyse and compare our observation with our memories or with what we think is right.
  3. We look for someone or something to blame.
  4. We start trying to make the offender guilty and whether that works or not we end up making ourselves feel guilty.
  5. Our guilt trip locks up one or more energy system.
  6. This locked energy leads to disease or decay.
  7. Eventually we drop the body in a ritual called death.
Learning
  1. We make an observation.
  2. We use our intellect to understand what it means to us.
  3. Based on our understanding we appreciate what we have learned.
  4. Appreciation leads to Love.
  5. Love leads to eternal life, to Heaven.
At any stage in the blame-game-guilt-trip process we can convert to learning. At step 2, for example, we can change from analysis and comparison to synthesis and learn, or at step 3,4 we can realise that all we are all here to do is to learn.

Note: The text from presence techniques onwards is taken from this site with slight editing.
